Laurie Bunten, Finance Administrator |
Laurie Bunten was born in Anaheim, California, but became an Oregonian at the age of 6. As a teenager, Laurie lived in Arizona, but soon returned to Oregon where she has resided ever since while working and raising her two children. Laurie has a daughter who is a surgical technician after receiving training as a member of the Army Reserves. Her daughter is also a youth minister at her church and is recently married. Laurie’s son is recently married as well and is curretly in the Air Force where he is recieving training as an air traffic controller. Laurie is an avid reader who enjoys knitting and working in her garden. Laurie has been a bookkeeper for many years and has been a member of the staff at Valley since 2006. |

I was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, but I was raised in Portland. I love living in the Portland area because of its diverse culture. My husband, Mike, and I have four children, Alexis, Anthony, Zachary and Nathan. After being an at home mom for a few years, I went back to work as a customer service representative. A few months later, I recieved a phone call from my cousin. Valley Church’s preschool program was looking for an assistant teacher. I jumped at the chance. I worked in the preschool for a few years and the children were such a blessing to be around. Even though I lived across town, being with the children made the long commute well worth the time. An opportunity arose to work in the church office. Now I am able to visit the preschool children as well as help out in the office. I have the best of both worlds! |

Nancy Striplin was born and raised in the Portland area. Nancy is a graduate of Portland State University which is also where she met her husband, Dan. They have been married over 20 years and have four children, the oldest is graduating from college and the youngest recently entered high school. Nancy loves to lose herself in books and watching movies with her family. She has primarily worked from home as a medical transcriptionist but has fully enjoyed returning to the outside world as a member of the Valley staff since April of 2008. |
George Schweser, Building and Grounds Superintendent |
George Schweser has been a staff member since 2006. George lives in Hillsboro with his wife, Terri. In his free time, George is a very talented artist who has had his work displayed in various exhibitions and shows throughout the local area. George and Terri anjoy traveling together. A favorite place to visit is the Oregon Coast, but they often venture further away such as their recent trip to Alaska. |
