Mid-Week Opportunities During School Year
Fully-devoted
disciples come in all ages and sizes. No one is ever too young to
benefit from extra curricular programs, especially in our journey
of faith. Consider enrolling your child in one or more of these
growth opportunities!
Wednesday Family Night
...a lively, mid-week
program for children grades 1 through 5. An enthusiastic staff of
volunteers lead these children in worship and music skills, recreation, and gather together as table
families over dinner.
More Information on WNL.
Valley Academy
of Performing Arts
.....offers
an array of artistic programs that help teach children and teens how to
express their faith and Christianity with confidence. Classes and choirs
meet throughout the week and are under the direction of Amy Rheingans. Home
school drama classes are also offered through the Academy.

Valley Christian
Preschool
...offers classes for children aged 2½, 3, and 4. This
is a loving community, developmentally appropriate for the
students. Children discover the wider world through music,
dramatic play, and "scientific" experimentation with the
elements all around them. Classes are at different times during
the week for the various ages and are at the direction of Melissa Parmelee.

Sunday
School for Children age 2 through Grade 5
Children
are gathered every Sunday in graded classes that model and teach
the Bible and the Christian story. Christian education is vital
for learning to live together in the way that God would have us
live. Music, prayer, fellowship, and outreach are important
components of the teaching hour. Sunday School continues
throughout the summer months at Valley.
Infants -
Age 3
are placed in
the care of trained child care personnel. Emphasis is placed on
dispensing large doses of loving attention and security for our
smallest charges.
Pre-K: 3s and 4s
flourish as they learn many skills of Christian
community. Music and story telling, as well as a wealth of
hands-on activities, reinforce the concepts taught long ago by
Jesus. We use the "We Believe" curriculum which is Presbyterian based.
K - Grade 5 - Children begin worship in the Sanctuary with their families. After the "Time With the Young Church", they are greeted in the Narthex by their classroom Shepherd who will be carrying color-coded banners (yellow for K, green for 1st, blue for 2nd and 3rd, red for 4th and 5th). All children proceed to the Choir room for music time. They are then led by their Shepherd to a classroom for the Bible Story, taking attendance and collection of tithes. Finally the children are led to an activity station where they enjoy art, cooking, drama, games or science focusing on the Bible Story they have just studied. Each week a different activity. At the end of the service, parents and families may refer to the schedules posted on all bulletin boards in the East wing of the church and refer to the color coded banners dislayed on the classroom doors to identify where their child is in class.
Infant
Care at Valley
Sunday Morning Child
Care: All services
Reliable child
care is offered Sunday mornings for infants through children aged
3.
The work of the church relies
on folks who sense the call to Christian Service. On any given
Sunday, many people are active in various areas--attending
worship, singing in the choir, playing handbells, teaching Sunday
School, or serving in other capacities. Childcare is a vital part
of our overall commitment to families with infants through age 3.
Child care providers are
trained and are Red Cross certified.
Preparation for Baptism
of Children
