The Rev. Dr. Liz Leavitt will lead us in exploring the increasing proportion of our neighbors who no longer identify with any religion. Now comprising one third of Americans, we will consider who they are, what do they want and are they ever coming back to church. Liz will share some of the historical factors that contributed to this dramatic shift in American religious life from data recently collected for her Doctor of Ministry degree. The workshop will conclude with a discussion of what kinds of ministries might fruitfully collaborate with this growing group and how church life might be meaningful enriched by such partnerships.
